Another great Northern Virginia Wedding Venue

I had the pleasure of doing a wedding at Rose Hill Manor in Leesburg, Virginia this past weekend.  With the manor house sitting amongst beautiful trees and rolling green hills, it is the perfect place for any event, especially a wedding!

My bride and groom fell in love with Rose Hill the minute they saw it over a year ago.  In fact, it was the only place that brought tears to Suzanne's eyes that entire day, and after that she told me she knew it was the place she wanted to get married!

From the ceremony, to the reception, to the bubble departure, everything went so smoothly and everyone had a great time.  Thanks to all the vendors who helped make this a fabulous memory for my clients; Rose Hill staff, Rev. Bill Cochran of Say I Do Your Way, R&R Caterers, Graceful Flowers by Patricia, Bobby G's Disc Jockeys, Classic Creations Photography, and of course to my team who always help make sure the wedding turns out just like our client's visions.

Congratulations to Suzanne and Phil!

Avoid Wedding Nightmares

A wedding tip:  Please make sure that you sign a contract with each and every vendor hired for your wedding, whether or not that vendor happens to be a friend. Also, make sure the vendor countersigns the contract and dates it.

Don't be caught the week of the wedding when contacting vendors to learn that the vendor has no signed contract with you and no obligation to be at your event.

So, if planning your own wedding and if you are not using a coordinator who will be reviewing these important tips with you, please pay attention and cross all the "t's" and dot all the "i's" and take care of all these details.

 Happy Planning!

Congratulations to my October brides and grooms, Shelley and Tom, Jennifer and Frank, and Jennifer and Adam. Three beautiful weddings took place outdoors, and then each partied into the wee hours at their receptions.

One, a wedding at Ft. Belvoir, one at Bristow Manor Golf Club, and one at Eastern Market in DC.  Kudos to all the vendors who made these weddings turn out so fabulously. Working with Elaine Studley Photography was a true pleasure,  the team at Bristow Manor took such good care of Jennifer and Frank throughout the planning process.  I can't wait to see the images captured by Annette from Classic Creations Photography and the video done by Jessica Pi Productions.  Mike, I am sure, shot footage of all the great moments of the evening, while everyone danced to the music of Fancy Pants band.  Doing a wedding at Eastern Market was a new experience for us at For All Occasions.  Local vendors who exhibit during the day, provided food, flowers and artwork which adorned the walls.  Rocklands BBQ took care of all the other food for dinner, and my, how good it was! What a great space for a wedding..check it out!

We loved assisting in the planning of all these weddings this fall, and wish our couples many wonderful years ahead!

Outdoor Fall Weddings

by Myrna 13. October 2010 02:55

How lucky my three couples were this October.  The weather was beautiful for all as they stated their vows in the settings of a gazebo, a park, and in front of a Manor House.

When planning for a fall wedding, especially one that is going to be outdoors, you must be realistic and have a back-up plan just in case the weather does not cooperate.

Many venues have separate rooms other than the ballroom where the ceremony can take place.  Some, must have the ceremony in the same room as where the reception will take place. Before signing your contract, make sure to ask these questions, so no surprises await you.

Happy planning!
