by Jackie 26. July 2011 07:10

We are always looking for new and interesting ways to spice up wedding decor. THRILLED doesn't even begin to describe how we felt when we found these cute decorations. Made from scrapbooking-type paper (or any sturdy paper, really), these little cupcake wraps are the perfect way to hide those boring liners and inject your wedding colors into the decor without going overboard. From your monogram to a butterfly theme - and everything else in the middle - you are sure to find something that matches your wedding!

Don't think that this detail is only for cupcakes, either. Head on over to Paper Orchid and you will find a selection of cake stand wraps as well. Like this blue Magnolis details, which is sold in strips to be placed around a cake stand.

The Perfect Table

by Myrna 20. July 2011 01:50

A beautiful table enhances any party, so it is important that the correct linens are adorning the table.  There are many fabrics and patterns that make huge differences in the look of the table and how the overall room turns out.  One of the main things to remember when having a party, is to have the correct size linen on the table.
The following chart is a guideline for you in picking linens, should you not have a professional assisting you.

80"x80"36"-60" Table
90"x90"48"-72" Table
96"36" Table
108"48" Table
120"60" Table
120"Stand Up Cocktails
132"66"-72" Table
72"x120"6'Table, Front & Sides
90"x132"6'Table, To The Floor

Remember to  also think about the texture of the cloth fitting the season, and the theme of the party. Add the perfect linen napkin, perhaps a chair caplet, a beautiful centerpiece, some votives to the table, and voila, the perfect table!

Have fun when picking your style party and tablescape.  For more information or assistance call us here at For All Occasions Events(FAO Events) 703-222-5912

A Quick Reception Change

by Jackie 19. July 2011 09:22

The trend of changing for the reception is not exactly a new concept...only one that is being more widely used now. We at FAO Events love the idea of making a grande entrance in a beautiful wedding gown and then changing prior to introductions to make another entrance before your first dance as a newly married couple! Below are just a few ideas of dresses which can be used to "cut loose" on the dance floor!

* Please Note - FAO does not endorse the use of any vendors listed below. They are just being given credit for their reception fashions.

A little flirty - and SUPER cute - this dress is great for an outdoor wedding reception. This Calvin Klein dress features quite a few appliqued petals around the top of the bodice and down the pleats of the skirt. A layer of tulle underneath elevates the elegance and gives this dress a little something extra. At only $178 from Nordstrom, it is a very affordable option!

Our mid-range dress also comes from Nordstrom and is priced at $695. Ruffled rosettes fill the bottom of the skirt while a black (optional) ribbons wraps around the waist. This minidress has a sweetheart neckline and a fitted bodice. There is no doubt that you will be able to move all around the dance floor while wearing this little number!

This option is great for a ballroom setting. The one-shoulder design of the dress gives it an upscale elegance worthy of your very own fairytale ending. The organza ruffles and fitted bodice are ideal for any Princess. J.Crew offers this dress at $995 and it is only available through their website.

I DO - Chloe and Seong - July 2, 2011

by Jackie 6. July 2011 10:08

This past weekend, our team had the pleasure of planning a wonderful farm wedding! The bride and groom had such a vision for their wedding that we just can't help but share! These are the photos one of our team members took throughout the day...professional photos will be posted once we get them. Until then...enjoy!

A view of the dinner area

Closer picture of the tables
Cute banner to welcome guests to dinner
Instead of traditional placecards, they had a chalkboard chart

Hand-made items for their "photo booth" - which consisted of a frame hanging from a tree branch and an instant camera

A nice tented area for dancing - complete with hay bales, if guests got a little tuckered out
