A Real DC Weddding

by 7. August 2012 09:22

Thanks to photographer Luke Eshleman for posting this a while back. I have gotten so many inquiries about Eastern Market since then, that I thought I would share Melissa and Andrew's special day.  They were a delight to work with, and they enjoyed their wedding at Eastern Market.

Club Bands are In

by Myrna 26. May 2011 08:08

If you want your reception to be a fun party, but not so traditional, many couples are now hiring club bands, not necessarily wedding bands.  They tend to be smaller in number of musicians, maybe 3 or 4, but will still play the traditional renditions to meet the needs of the first dance, and father/daughter dance. The musicians are not dressed in suits or tuxedos, but in casual clothing most times, just as if they were playing at the club.  When it comes to the party time of the evening, the music can be any genre  and  the dance floor is always jammed with happy guests no matter how loud the music.

If you need some suggestions about trying out one of these type of bands for your wedding, give us a holler at fao-events.com or call us at 703-222-5912.  We would be most happy to share our knowledge so you can have a rocking evening!

Congratulations

by Myrna 13. October 2010 03:05

Congratulations to my October brides and grooms, Shelley and Tom, Jennifer and Frank, and Jennifer and Adam. Three beautiful weddings took place outdoors, and then each partied into the wee hours at their receptions.

One, a wedding at Ft. Belvoir, one at Bristow Manor Golf Club, and one at Eastern Market in DC.  Kudos to all the vendors who made these weddings turn out so fabulously. Working with Elaine Studley Photography was a true pleasure,  the team at Bristow Manor took such good care of Jennifer and Frank throughout the planning process.  I can't wait to see the images captured by Annette from Classic Creations Photography and the video done by Jessica Pi Productions.  Mike, I am sure, shot footage of all the great moments of the evening, while everyone danced to the music of Fancy Pants band.  Doing a wedding at Eastern Market was a new experience for us at For All Occasions.  Local vendors who exhibit during the day, provided food, flowers and artwork which adorned the walls.  Rocklands BBQ took care of all the other food for dinner, and my, how good it was! What a great space for a wedding..check it out!

We loved assisting in the planning of all these weddings this fall, and wish our couples many wonderful years ahead!
