My beautiful couple Alan and Melissa who married on August 7th had their reception at the Embassy Suites in Old Town Alexandria. They did something a bit different which I thought worked very well.  Instead of them doing their first dance as soon as they entered the ballroom, they chose to do the Father-daughter dance, then the Mother-son dance, then their first dance as husband and wife.  This symbolized them leaving their parents who had given their blessings and now, their first dance meant so much more.  I thought it was a lovely sentiment, and it was an extra honmor to their parents.
